Math in Music is an independent site exploring the connection between math and music. This page explains who we are and how our content is made.
Our story
Math in Music began in a music classroom, watching a student who “hated math” happily divide a bar into quarter notes. That moment — math working because it was music — became the whole idea. We started writing down the connections, and the site grew from there.
Our mission
Our mission is to help children discover that math and music are two sides of the same coin, so the patterns they love in one can unlock the other.
Editorial standards
- Accurate. Both the math and the music are checked before publishing.
- Playful. We keep it joyful, the way music should be.
- Clear. No jargon from either subject without a plain explanation.
How our content is reviewed
Each article is checked for mathematical and musical accuracy, tried with real learners where possible, and refined for clarity. Spotted an error? Tell us.
